When I went to the registration and looked at the options I was quite confused about whether the hotel stay is free or if it is just the “being assigned a room to share” is the free part.

While that would be a great perk, I assure you we do not cover individual hotel stays for attendees. But you’re right, the option to find people willing to share rooms is indeed free – the rooms are not.
I had already figured that that was the case.
My comment was more to let you know that you might want to update the wording clarify the situation so that others may not be confused as I was.
